Fun with Fish at The Nature Institute

Cheesy and her find

How about a little kiss?

Another field trip day.  Today Cheesy, Bee and I went to The Nature Institute in Godfrey to learn about fish.  I have to say, it was much more fun than I expected.  The guide, Miss Patty, was full of fun facts about fish (notice the alliteration – my English degree still works) .  After some time indoors learning about fish anatomy we hiked down to the river to look for fish, shells, fossils, and fish carcasses.  Cheesy had to be persuaded not to bring home a fish head that she found, on the grounds that it would stink up the car.

Bee looking for shells - and she found a lot of them.
